This church was designed by the award winning architect Oscar Niemeyer and was inaugurated on May 31st 1970. The Cathedral is known throughout the world for its stunning interior glass work and is a true architectural masterpiece. Known worldwide as one of Oscar Niemeyer marvels, the Cathedral is found in the northern part of Brasilia.

The Metropolitan Cathedral Nossa Senhora Aparecida was built to look like an inverted chalice with a crown of thorns. Although from the outside the cathedral looks small, once you enter the cathedral you are welcomed by a bright spacious and spectacular church. This beautiful church in the city of Brasilia is located at the beginning of the Esplanade of Ministries and the hours of operation are from 7am-6pm daily.
